Empowering Individuals through Tailored Support
At UMU we focus on providing safe, quality independent personalised housing solution and support services to empower living. Our floating support and supported living services are tailored to individuals needs and barriers between them to independence, due to physical, learning or sensory disabilities, mental health challenges, advance age, substance misuse, as well as care leavers, a history of homelessness, offenders or at risk of offending and survivors of domestic abuse within communities who experience homelessness and those at risk of homelessness.
Our team assist local authorities to resolve housing crises through providing housing for vulnerable adults across North, East, South and West of London and service you receive may differ slightly from borough to borough. We are here to connect eligible vulnerable individuals requiring housing and support to live independently access information, community services, mental health services, training, education, employment opportunity or benefit navigation and social care to ensure they can live safely and autonomously through guidance, structure and continuity pathway for individuals to follow towards their independence for really transformation to be sustain.

Who we are
UMU is committed to provide empowerment-base floating support services that promoting social inclusion by providing safe, quality housing with a sense of community to prevent homelessness, isolation and build our client's confidence to manage their tenancy on their own and contribute to safer and more cohesive communities through intervention and preventative program. For that we encouraging residents to engage positively with each other, as we collaborate with local authority, healthcare professionals and other support agencies to ensure individuals receive holistic and coordinated care and support they need to live independently, improve their wellbeing, and integrate positively within their communities.
Core Services Provided

Floating Support Services - Aims to stop rough sleeping through early intervention and to ensure vulnerable individuals maintain their independence. Clients often include those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or sensory impairment, addiction recovery, young people leaving the care system, ​​elderly people, a history of homelessness, offenders / at risk of offending and domestic violence can remain living independently in their own home. We work with you around any problems you are facing in your home which may lead you to becoming homeless, improve your skills and confidence to take control of your life and make your own decisions. ​
We assist clients with housing-related administrative and life skills, such as:

Managing Tenancies: Communicating with landlords, setting up a tenancy and moving into new accommodation and support you to understanding tenant rights, and dealing with rent arrears.

Finances and Benefits: We deliver personal-centred support plan to assist you with daily practical living skills such as budgeting and tenancy sustainment, setting up budgets, reducing debt, and applying for welfare benefits or Universal Credit.

Setting Up a Home: Arranging for low-cost furniture and connecting utilities.

Accessing Healthcare: Acting alongside clinical care such registering with local doctors (GPs) appointment, referrals if needed to be arrange to prevent hospital admission and accessing to community mental or physical health services.

Community Connection: Referring clients to local training, education, or employment opportunities.​​​

What It Does Not Include
​
Floating support services focus on housing and independence. We do not provide any personal care (such as bathing and dressing) or domestic duties (such as cooking, cleaning DIY or gardening). Nor can we provide you with any counselling or befriending support.
Who Can Benefits From The Service?
Floating support service is available to vulnerable individuals who need help with maintaining their independence, experience housing issues and live in independent accommodation within London boroughs. We understand that over time your requirements will develop and change so our service is flexible - adapting to your needs and requirements as they change. Our service doesn't stop when we have found the right property for you. We are also here to support and help you maintain your home.​
